Handling technology

RFID integration, end-to-end

The adoption of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology is a strategic lever to further boost efficiency, traceability and accuracy across our logistics operations.

How it Works

Fully embedded in our processes and seamlessly integrated with our proprietary WMS, Logistica.Net, RFID enables real-time, contactless control throughout the product lifecycle—from inbound to storage, shipping, and store delivery. Each item is uniquely identified via a passive microchip embedded in the label or product. The RFID system allows for fast, multi-item scanning without line-of-sight, drastically reducing processing time and the potential for human error.

During inbound, RFID automates the validation of shipped vs. expected goods. In the warehouse, it improves inventory accuracy, speeds up stock counts and packing, minimizes stockouts, and supports dynamic, transparent inventory management. On the retail and B2C side, RFID enhances key processes such as product verification, automated checkout, rapid inventory, end-of-season returns and omnichannel sales, such as ship-from-store or same-day delivery.

Client-centric technology

RFID is increasingly central to enabling the Digital Product Passport (DPP)—a new standard promoting transparency, reusability, repairability and sustainability. With its writable, readable memory, the RFID tag becomes a carrier of valuable brand-to-consumer data: material traceability, care instructions, after-sales services, repairs and ESG impact.

Thanks to its flexibility (UHF, NFC, dual-frequency), RFID can be tailored to the specific needs of both luxury and mass-market brands. We partner with leading suppliers of tags, readers, antennas and middleware to deliver complete, scalable, fully integrated solutions.

Smarter, Faster, More Connected Logistics

All RFID implementations are aligned with our standards for security, sustainability and performance. Integration with Logistica.Net ensures smooth interoperability with client ERP, TMS and retail systems, providing full end-to-end visibility across the value chain.

With RFID, we make logistics smarter, faster and more connected, improving the end-customer experience and paving the way for a more transparent, circular and sustainable future.

Benefits

1. Real-time traceability
Each item is identified and tracked throughout the supply chain. Fast, bulk reading of tags provides immediate status updates, reducing the risk of errors or loss, and meeting traceability requirements for Digital Product Passports.

2. Fast, reliable inventories
Fixed or handheld RFID readers allow for full stock counts in minutes, with very high accuracy. This ensures continuous visibility of inventory and product flows, while simplifying updates and adjustments.

3. Inbound and outbound efficiency
RFID automatically verifies logistics units during receiving and shipping, eliminating manual checks and speeding up operations. This results in smoother workflows, fewer slowdowns and better performance monitoring.

4. Omnichannel and customer experience support
RFID enables advanced management of ship-from-store, same-day delivery and more. It also creates a direct brand-to-customer channel: by scanning the tag, the end user can access the Digital Product Passport, with details on composition, origin, care, and post-sale services.

5. Security, sustainability and ESG compliance
RFID helps prevent theft, fraud and tampering with precise, verifiable tracking. It also reduces paper waste, packaging materials and unnecessary handling, supporting a more sustainable, efficient logistics model aligned with our ESG goals.
